Around 350 volunteers are taking part in the organisation of the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup (Gulf Cup 27), which is being held in Jeddah from September 23 to October 6, 2026.
The volunteers are supporting the tournament’s operational and organisational teams across several areas, helping with the day-to-day delivery of the competition.
Volunteers Support Fans and Operations
Their roles include fan services, crowd management, media, protocol, transportation and operations, as well as support duties at stadiums and other tournament venues.
Volunteers completed training and preparation programmes ahead of the tournament. The programmes covered their responsibilities, assigned tasks and working procedures across different locations, helping standardise operations and improve readiness throughout the competition.
They are stationed at fan reception points, stadium entrances and operational areas, where they support organising teams and assist fans, national teams, media representatives and tournament guests.
Building Local Event Management Skills
The volunteer programme forms part of the local organising committee’s efforts to involve national talent in the delivery of major sporting events.
It also provides young men and women with opportunities to gain practical experience and develop organisational and operational skills through direct involvement in one of the sporting events hosted by Saudi Arabia.
