Supporting Sustainable Falconry
The National Center for Falcons Auction is dedicated to migratory young marine peregrine falcons (shahin bahri) captured within Saudi Arabia.
The auction does not include mature peregrine falcons (shahin qarnas) or saker falcons (saqr hurr), as part of the centre’s approach to supporting their sustainability and preserving their populations.
During the local falcon season, the centre deploys field teams across different regions of Saudi Arabia to receive trappers and facilitate the transportation of their falcons to the auction venue.
Services include transportation and accommodation support, documentation of sales and the presentation of falcons through a live competitive auction.
The auction takes place at the centre’s headquarters in Malham, north of Riyadh, with auction nights broadcast through television channels and social media platforms, allowing falconers and enthusiasts to follow the bidding on locally captured falcons.
