Paymentology Appoints Sultan Alabdullatif as Country Manager in Saudi Arabia

Paymentology has appointed Sultan Alabdullatif as Country Manager for Saudi Arabia, strengthening its local presence as the Kingdom’s financial services and digital payments sectors continue to expand.

The appointment builds on the global issuer processor’s establishment of a local entity in 2025 and its ongoing investment in technology and capabilities tailored to the Saudi market. Paymentology currently supports financial services innovators in the Kingdom, including Tabby and Enjaz.

With dedicated leadership based in Saudi Arabia, the company aims to deepen relationships with banks, fintechs and ecosystem partners while supporting the development of new payment products and services.

An Experienced Leader in Payments

Alabdullatif brings more than 15 years of experience across payments, technology and financial services. He joins Paymentology from Visa, where he served as Head of Acceptance Solutions in Saudi Arabia, helping grow the local business and build strategic relationships with banks, fintechs and industry partners.

Before joining Visa, he was Country Manager at Amazon Payment Services, leading the growth of its payment services business in Saudi Arabia. Earlier in his career, he held payments and product roles at J.P. Morgan.

He holds a master’s degree in computer science from California State University, Fullerton.

In his new role, Alabdullatif will lead Paymentology’s growth in Saudi Arabia, strengthen existing client relationships, develop new partnerships and work with financial institutions to deliver payment solutions suited to the local market.

Strengthening Local Partnerships

Jeff Parker, CEO of Paymentology, said the company had established strong momentum in Saudi Arabia through its work with businesses such as Tabby and Enjaz. He described the Kingdom as a key market and highlighted the company’s commitment to investing in local expertise, technology and relationships.

Parker added that Alabdullatif’s understanding of the Saudi payments landscape, industry relationships and experience in growing businesses would support Paymentology’s efforts to help clients develop and scale their services.

Alabdullatif said Saudi Arabia’s transformation in financial services was creating opportunities for banks, fintechs and businesses to rethink how payments are delivered.

He added that his priority would be to build on Paymentology’s existing foundations by working closely with clients and partners, understanding their needs and providing the technology and support required to achieve their business objectives.

Saudi Arabia’s Digital Payments Growth

Paymentology’s expansion comes as Saudi Arabia advances its Vision 2030 ambitions and continues to adopt digital payment solutions.

According to the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA), electronic payments accounted for 85% of all retail payments in 2025, with 14.6 billion electronic transactions recorded during the year. The number of operating fintech companies also reached 371 by August 2026, reflecting the growth of the Kingdom’s financial services sector.

These developments are creating opportunities for payment technology providers to help financial institutions introduce new products, expand operations and respond to changing customer expectations.

Supporting Regional and Global Expansion

Paymentology’s investment in Saudi Arabia forms part of its wider growth strategy across the Middle East and international markets. In May 2026, the company announced a $175 million strategic investment to accelerate international expansion and technology innovation.

By combining its global infrastructure with local market expertise, Paymentology aims to support banks and fintechs in bringing new payment solutions to market and scaling their operations.

Alabdullatif’s appointment marks another step in the company’s efforts to strengthen its position in Saudi Arabia and support the Kingdom’s evolving payments ecosystem.
