The AlUla Skies Festival is set to return from April 17 to April 26, 2026, bringing a 10-day celebration of adventure, astronomy, and desert experiences to one of Saudi Arabia’s most scenic destinations.
Held in the historic region of AlUla, the festival transforms the desert sky into a stage filled with colour, light, and activity. By day, visitors can watch or take part in hot air balloon rides that rise over ancient landscapes like Hegra, offering wide views of canyons and rock formations.
One of the highlights is the large-scale balloon experience, where dozens of balloons lift together at sunrise, creating one of the most photographed moments of the festival.

As the sun sets, the experience shifts to the ground. Evenings feature tethered balloon displays with music, outdoor cinema under the stars, and guided stargazing sessions that make use of AlUla’s clear desert skies.
The festival is part of the wider AlUla Moments calendar, which continues to position the region as a global tourism destination. It blends adventure with culture, offering visitors a chance to explore both the natural beauty and the heritage of the area.
With its mix of daytime adventure and night-time experiences, the AlUla Skies Festival has become one of the most visually striking events in Saudi Arabia’s event calendar. From floating balloons at sunrise to stargazing in the quiet desert, it offers a unique way to experience AlUla from both above and below.
