Catrion Catering Holding has received three awards at the Gulf Sustainability Awards 2026 in Dubai, recognising its work across social impact, environmental sustainability and employee wellbeing.
The company won awards for Best Social Impact, Best Environmental Sustainability and Employee Wellbeing, marking its second consecutive year of recognition at the awards.
The latest honours follow four awards received by Catrion in the 2025 edition and reflect the company’s approach to integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices into its operations.
From Waste to Value
Catrion received the Best Social Impact award for its integrated “From Waste to Value” strategy, which includes the redistribution of surplus food as a key component.
The initiative combines food security, community empowerment, volunteering and circular economy principles. It has helped distribute meals to more than 5.25 million beneficiaries, while Catrion invested SAR 31.75 million in social responsibility and delivered 50,688 hours of training to support employee development and knowledge transfer.
Cutting Emissions and Resource Use
The company also won Best Environmental Sustainability for its “Catrion Responsible Environmental Management Framework.”
The framework brings together governance, compliance, climate action, resource efficiency, waste reduction, circular economy practices and innovation.
According to the company, the programme contributed to a 7.9% reduction in emissions and a 3.15% reduction in fuel consumption. Catrion also obtained environmental permits across its various locations without recording environmental violations.
Ziad Al-Harbi, Catrion’s Executive Director of Environment, Social Responsibility and Governance, said the recognition for the second consecutive year reflects the company’s approach to sustainability as an integrated operational practice balancing environmental protection, social impact and investment in people.
Supporting Employee Wellbeing
Catrion also received the Employee Wellbeing award for its “Catrion 360°” programme, an annual strategy supporting more than 5,000 employees across four regions.
The programme includes health, motivational, financial, social and community initiatives, including health screenings, workplace wellbeing awareness, blood donation campaigns, social competitions and exclusive employee offers.
Wafaa Al-Dahwi, Catrion’s Employee Experience Manager, said employee wellbeing is a key part of creating a workplace that enables employees to develop and succeed. She added that the programme reflects the company’s focus on investing in people, developing national talent, supporting women’s participation and providing growth opportunities.
Continuing Its Sustainability Journey
Catrion joined the United Nations Global Compact in 2024 and published its 2025 Governance, Environment and Social Responsibility Report in accordance with Global Reporting Initiative standards.
The company has also continued investing in environmental solutions and circular economy initiatives.
With more than four decades of experience in the hospitality and catering sector, Catrion provides services across aviation catering, hospitality, catering and projects. The company is using this operational experience to expand its integrated business solutions, strengthen strategic partnerships and support Saudi Arabia’s national objectives while contributing to the Kingdom’s travel and hospitality experience.
