FedEx Expands Dangerous Goods Road Transport Across Five GCC Markets

The new capability covers eligible regulated shipments across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman through FedEx Regional Economy and Regional Economy Freight services.

FedEx has launched dangerous goods transportation capabilities across its Middle East Road Network, allowing customers to move eligible regulated goods by road across five GCC markets. Announced on October 19, 2026, the service covers the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman.

The expansion supports industries with complex supply chains, including healthcare and life sciences, energy and petrochemicals, high-tech, and beauty and personal care. Shipments are subject to applicable commodity, origin, destination and regulatory requirements.

Eligible goods may include healthcare materials, laboratory reagents, diagnostic samples, dry ice shipments, chemicals and lithium batteries.

Regional Shipping and Handling Capabilities

Through its Regional Economy and Regional Economy Freight services, FedEx offers several features for eligible dangerous goods shipments, including day-definite delivery, road transportation aligned with applicable ADR requirements, customs-cleared movements and end-to-end shipment visibility.

The services also include dedicated dangerous goods handling controls and support for both lightweight parcels and heavyweight palletised freight.

Taarek Hinedi, Vice President of Operations and Planning & Engineering at FedEx Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa, said the expansion provides businesses with greater flexibility to transport critical commodities across GCC markets as regional industrial activity and trade continue to grow.

He added that the capability is supported by FedEx’s compliance controls, operational expertise and regional connectivity, helping businesses build more resilient supply chains.

Connecting GCC Markets Through Dubai

The FedEx Middle East Road Network connects with the wider FedEx network through the company’s hub at Dubai World Central (DWC) airport, linking air and road transportation services across the region.

FedEx operates a dedicated fleet of TIR-registered vehicles across GCC road corridors. Shipments benefit from GPS tracking, customs-cleared movements and round-the-clock monitoring through a dedicated control tower, providing visibility throughout the transportation process.

The new capability expands the options available to businesses moving eligible regulated goods across the GCC, supporting regional trade through FedEx’s integrated road and air network.
