Glasshouse to Bring Mediterranean Dining and Social Impact to Dhahran

Glasshouse, a new Mediterranean restaurant combining contemporary cuisine, warm hospitality and community-focused initiatives, is set to open in Dhahran this October. Developed by Arrama for Food Services Company under Alturki Holding, the restaurant aims to become a distinctive addition to the Eastern Province’s dining scene.

The concept combines destination dining with the welcoming atmosphere of a neighbourhood restaurant, focusing on quality ingredients, thoughtful design and meaningful connections with the local community.

Rami Khalid Alturki, President and CEO of Alturki Holding, said Glasshouse was designed to offer a sophisticated yet relaxed dining experience that reflects Dhahran’s character. He also highlighted the restaurant’s commitment to supporting Saudi talent, regional craftsmanship and community initiatives.

A Contemporary Take on Mediterranean Cuisine

The restaurant’s development has been led by Emma Fisher, General Manager of Arrama, who brings experience from more than 50 regional openings. Executive Chef Jon Skotidas has developed a menu inspired by Mediterranean hospitality, with an emphasis on high-quality ingredients and dishes suited to both sharing and individual dining.

The menu features small plates such as Seabass Ceviche with saffron tiger’s milk, Cacio e Pepe Croquettes with truffle, Gambas al Ajillo and Buffalo Burrata with peach and basil pesto. Freshly baked pizzas provide another option for diners.

Larger dishes include Squash Agnolotti and Linguine Nerano, while the Josper grill adds a fire-led element to the menu with Whole Seabass, Grilled Octopus, Lamb Chops and Wagyu Rib Eye.

Daily focaccia served with olive tapenade reflects the restaurant’s approach to generous, ingredient-led cooking, balancing contemporary presentation with familiar Mediterranean flavours.

Supporting Artisans and Meaningful Initiatives

Beyond its culinary offering, Glasshouse places a strong emphasis on social impact and regional craftsmanship. The restaurant has incorporated work from independent makers and organisations into its design and operations.

Its hosts will wear abayas featuring embroidery created by female refugees, curated by the craft collective Inaash. Custom architectural lighting and table lamps have been designed specifically for the restaurant by Lebanese company Fabrica, while bespoke handcrafted ceramics and tableware come from Emirati-born brand Bornfree Ceramics.

Glasshouse has also partnered with Zadk Saudi Culinary Arts Academy to sponsor Saudi students through an in-restaurant internship programme, with plans to provide further sponsorship for selected students.

A New Addition to the Eastern Province

With its combination of Mediterranean cuisine, considered interiors and community-focused partnerships, Glasshouse aims to offer more than a conventional restaurant experience.

The Dhahran opening brings together food, hospitality and local talent in a concept designed to serve both as a dining destination and as part of the neighbourhood’s everyday life.
