International fashion retailer Primark is set to enter the Saudi Arabian market for the first time, with its debut store scheduled to open at The Avenues Mall in Riyadh in March 2027.
The store will be launched in partnership with Alshaya Group, marking another step in Primark’s expansion across the Middle East. The opening will bring Primark’s presence to five countries in the region and 22 countries worldwide.
The first Saudi Arabian store will be located in the new The Avenues – Riyadh, a major retail, leisure and entertainment development that is scheduled to open in March 2027. The project will span 390,000 square meters of land and is expected to have more than 400,000 square meters of gross leasable area.

The announcement comes after Primark’s recent expansion in the region. The retailer opened its first stores in the UAE earlier this year at Dubai Mall, City Centre Mirdif and Mall of the Emirates. It also opened its first store in Kuwait last October.
Eoin Tonge, CEO of Primark, said the strong customer response to the brand’s stores in Kuwait and Dubai has increased the company’s confidence in its growth opportunities across the region. He described Saudi Arabia as an important next step for Primark and said the company was pleased to continue its partnership with Alshaya Group.
John Hadden, CEO of Alshaya Group, said the company was proud to announce the first flagship Primark store in Saudi Arabia and confirmed that more stores are expected to follow in the Kingdom.

Primark’s Saudi expansion is part of a wider regional growth strategy with Alshaya Group. Last year, Alshaya signed an agreement with Shomoul Holding, the developer of The Avenues – Riyadh and a subsidiary of Mabanee Company, to invest more than $150 million. The agreement includes plans to open 100 stores featuring international brands and create more than 2,500 opportunities for Saudi nationals.
Primark is known for offering fashion trends and everyday essentials at affordable prices across categories including womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, home and beauty.
The retailer is also preparing to expand further in the region before its Saudi Arabian debut. Its Bahrain store at City Centre Bahrain is scheduled to open on September 23, 2026, followed by a store at Doha Festival City in Qatar on October 29, 2026.
With its Riyadh opening planned for March 2027, Primark’s arrival will add another major international fashion retailer to Saudi Arabia’s rapidly expanding retail market.
