Saudi Arabia Concludes Successful Khaleeji 27 in Jeddah

The Local Organizing Committee has concluded the organizational and operational work for the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup, Khaleeji Diyar Al Arabia 27, which was held in Jeddah from September 23 to October 6, 2026.

Saudi Arabia lifted the title after defeating the United Arab Emirates in the final at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah.

The tournament featured eight Gulf national teams and 15 matches over two weeks, supported by a large presence of fans, media and participating delegations.

Strong Support and Collaboration

The Local Organizing Committee praised the Saudi sports system, led by Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, for its support and follow-up throughout the tournament.

The committee also highlighted its cooperation with the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation during the preparation and organization of the tournament, which helped deliver the requirements of the 27th edition.

Yasser Al-Misehal, Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee, said the tournament’s success was the result of cooperation between the various organizations and teams involved.

He described Khaleeji 27 as a tournament that reflected the spirit of the Gulf Cup, combining competition on the pitch with friendship and unity beyond it.

The committee also thanked the Gulf Cup Football Federation, its Chairman Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, the participating teams and federations, and Gulf fans for their contribution to the tournament.

Fans and Media at the Heart of the Tournament

More than 600 registered media professionals from Saudi Arabia, the Gulf region, the wider Arab world and internationally covered the tournament, providing extensive coverage of the matches and activities in Jeddah.

Fans were also recognized as a key part of the tournament’s success. Their strong attendance and engagement throughout the competition helped create an atmosphere that reflected the importance of the Gulf Cup across the region.

The committee also thanked government and private-sector entities, partners, volunteers and operational teams involved in delivering the tournament.

Looking Ahead to Saudi Arabia 2027

With the conclusion of Khaleeji 27, the Local Organizing Committee said the tournament represents both the end of an important organizational chapter and the beginning of preparations for upcoming sporting events.

The experience and knowledge gained from hosting the Gulf Cup will support preparations for future events, including the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027, which the Kingdom will host early next year.

The successful hosting of Khaleeji 27 adds another chapter to Saudi Arabia’s growing role in hosting major sporting events.
