Initiative targets eligible citizens and residents across Makkah Region as part of Saudi National Day celebrations
The Charitable Association for Health Promotion in the Makkah Region has launched a free cataract surgery project for 96 eligible beneficiaries, marking Saudi National Day with an initiative focused on improving access to healthcare.
The project is open to citizens and residents who meet the eligibility requirements in the Makkah Region. The initiative aims to turn the values of solidarity, giving and social responsibility associated with the national occasion into a direct health impact for beneficiaries.
The project builds on the association’s efforts to develop health initiatives that respond to community needs. It also reflects the role of the nonprofit sector in supporting the objectives of the Health Transformation Program, one of the programs under Saudi Vision 2030, particularly in improving access to care and strengthening integration across the healthcare system.
Dr. Aisha Abbas Nattu, Chairperson of the Charitable Association for Health Promotion, said the association chose to mark Saudi National Day by providing a service that can have a direct impact on people’s daily lives.
She said the project reflects the association’s belief that health promotion goes beyond awareness and should include initiatives that respond to healthcare needs and help eligible groups access appropriate treatment.
Dr. Nattu also highlighted the importance of cooperation between the healthcare sector, the nonprofit sector and supporters in delivering community initiatives and maximizing their impact.
Applicants must first review the project’s eligibility requirements and submit their applications through the official platform. Registration is the first step, while acceptance and access to the service will depend on eligibility verification, medical assessment and available capacity.
