Sony Unveils First-Ever True RGB BRAVIA TVs and BRAVIA Theatre Trio in Saudi Arabia

Sony has introduced a new era of home entertainment in Saudi Arabia with the launch of its first-ever True RGB televisions, the flagship BRAVIA 9 II and BRAVIA 7 II, alongside the all-new BRAVIA Theatre Trio home audio system. Together, the new lineup advances Sony’s “Cinema is Coming Home” vision, bringing creator-intended picture and sound quality into living rooms like never before.

At the heart of Sony’s latest innovation is the proprietary RGB Backlight Master Drive Pro, which independently controls red, green and blue LEDs to deliver the largest colour volume in Sony’s television history. The technology enables richer colours, improved brightness, reduced blooming and more accurate colour reproduction across wider viewing angles, even in bright home environments.

“Sony has been advancing LED control for over 20 years, from our first independent RGB light sources in the Qualia 005 through our flagship Backlight Master Drive technology,” said Yousufuddin Mohammad, Head of Home Entertainment, Sony Middle East and Africa. “Our new True RGB technology represents a major breakthrough, combining the precision of individually controlled RGB LEDs with the best aspects of both Mini LED and OLED displays, delivering purer colours, higher brightness and exceptional picture accuracy in any room.”

BRAVIA 9 II and BRAVIA 7 II: A New Standard for Home Viewing

The BRAVIA 9 II and BRAVIA 7 II are Sony’s first True RGB LED televisions, designed to deliver enhanced colour depth, contrast and realism. Both models feature Sony’s advanced RGB Backlight Master Drive Pro technology, X-Wide Angle Pro for consistent picture quality from multiple viewing positions, and AI-powered audio technologies including Voice Zoom 3 and 3D Surround Upscaling.

For immersive large-screen entertainment, the BRAVIA 9 II is available in sizes up to 115 inches, while the BRAVIA 7 II ranges from 65 to 98 inches. Both models also feature Sony’s Harmonic Presence design, blending seamlessly into modern interiors with a refined bezel and transparent center stand.

As Sony’s flagship True RGB television, the BRAVIA 9 II introduces newly developed LED controllers and advanced technologies including RGB Triluminos Max and Luminance Booster Pro, enabling more precise backlight control and superior colour accuracy at higher brightness levels. It also features Immersive Black Screen Pro, a unique anti-glare and low-reflection screen treatment developed with input from Sony Pictures Entertainment to preserve cinematic image quality in bright environments.

Cinema-Driven Features Inspired by Filmmakers

Both BRAVIA True RGB models are equipped with features designed to bring studio-quality viewing experiences into the home. These include My Cinema mode, Ambient Optimization, Studio Calibrated modes for supported streaming services, and compatibility with Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, DTS and IMAX Enhanced content. The result is a viewing experience that stays true to the filmmaker’s original vision, regardless of room conditions.

BRAVIA Theatre Trio Expands Sound Beyond the Screen

Complementing the new televisions is the BRAVIA Theatre Trio, Sony’s latest premium wireless home theatre system developed in collaboration with Sony Pictures Entertainment. The system features newly designed left, right and centre speakers engineered to create a wide and immersive cinematic soundstage while maintaining crystal-clear dialogue.

“Sound design is integral to the cinematic experience and often drives the visceral impact of a scene,” said Tony Lamberti, Academy Award-nominated sound mixer. “The spatiality of the BRAVIA Theatre Trio is exceptional; it fully envelops you in sound and delivers a truly immersive cinematic experience in the home.”

The Theatre Trio leverages Sony’s 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology, generating up to 24 phantom speakers to create a multidimensional sound field that surrounds listeners from every direction. Enhanced room calibration, powered by a new USB Type-C microphone, ensures optimized audio performance tailored to each living space. The system supports Dolby Atmos, DTS and IMAX Enhanced content and can be expanded with optional wireless subwoofers and rear speakers.

Sustainability and Accessibility

Sony continues to advance its sustainability goals through the use of recycled and renewable materials across its latest BRAVIA products, including Sony’s proprietary SORPLAS recycled plastic. The BRAVIA 9 II is also the company’s first television to incorporate renewable plastic derived from used cooking oil and other renewable feedstocks in key components. In addition, the True RGB lineup benefits from energy-efficient RGB LED control technology. A newly designed remote control also enhances accessibility through improved tactile navigation and narration-friendly design.

Availability

The BRAVIA 9 II and BRAVIA 7 II will be available in selected Middle Eastern markets from late June 2026, while the BRAVIA Theatre Trio will launch in selected countries across the region from early July 2026.
