Rotana Jabal Omar Makkah Strengthens Year-Round Umrah Readiness Following Its First Hajj Season

The 655-room hotel builds on strong Hajj performance with direct access to Al Masjid Al Haram, multilingual services, and dedicated support for pilgrims throughout the year.

Makkah, Saudi Arabia – 9 June 2026: Rotana Jabal Omar Makkah has strengthened its year-round readiness for Umrah pilgrims following the successful completion of its first Hajj season, during which the hotel recorded occupancy exceeding 95 percent just months after opening in December 2025.

The achievement comes after Saudi Arabia welcomed more than 1.7 million pilgrims during this year’s Hajj season. As the new Umrah season begins, the hotel is expanding its focus on providing seamless access, practical support, and personalised services for pilgrims visiting the Holy City throughout the year.

Located within the Jabal Omar development, Rotana Jabal Omar Makkah offers direct connectivity to Al Masjid Al Haram through a network of escalators and pedestrian pathways designed to facilitate smoother movement during prayer times and peak periods. The hotel also provides a range of guest services, including Miqat guidance, prayer schedule assistance, Ihram support, airport transfers, daily movement planning, group coordination, and multilingual communication in more than eight languages.

The hotel’s continued readiness aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 objective of increasing the Kingdom’s capacity to welcome 30 million Umrah visitors annually by the end of the decade.

The update was shared during a media visit hosted by Rotana Jabal Omar Makkah, where representatives experienced the property’s accommodation offerings, dining concepts, and operational services tailored to the needs of Hajj and Umrah guests.

Ayman Zaki, General Manager of Rotana Jabal Omar Makkah, said:
“Our first Hajj season was an important milestone for Rotana Jabal Omar Makkah, but our responsibility extends well beyond peak pilgrimage periods. Makkah is increasingly becoming a year-round destination for pilgrims, and hospitality providers must be prepared to support guests at every stage of their journey. Our focus remains on delivering reliable service, effective group management, and a guest experience that respects the spiritual significance of every stay.”

He added: “The needs of Hajj and Umrah guests are unique. They require clear guidance, convenient access, language support, and teams that understand the practical challenges of pilgrimage. Our role goes beyond accommodation. It is about helping guests experience their journey with greater ease, comfort, and confidence.”

Rotana Jabal Omar Makkah features 655 rooms and suites spread across three interconnected towers. Designed to accommodate pilgrims, families, groups, and long-stay visitors, the property combines comfort, privacy, and convenience. The hotel also offers executive floors and a private executive lounge for guests seeking a more personalised experience.

Additional facilities include dedicated prayer areas for men and women, meeting and event spaces, fitness and wellness facilities, 24-hour room service, and five restaurants and cafés serving international, Asian, and Arabic cuisine.
