Taif, Saudi Arabia: The 2026 Saudi Toyota Hill Climb Championship returns to Aqabat Al-Muhammadiyah in Al-Shafa, Taif, on July 17–18 for its second round, following an exciting opening event that showcased close competition and impressive performances from Saudi Arabia’s leading hill climb drivers.
Held under the supervision of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF), the championship is managed by Bakhashab Motorsport in partnership with Jameel Motorsport, the official partner of the championship.
The opening round delivered a highly competitive contest, with Mamoun Amr Alkabbani claiming overall victory after completing the course in 3 minutes 28.936 seconds. Faisal Soufyan Alkabbani secured second place, finishing just 0.787 seconds behind the winner, while Ahmed Abdul Algaidy completed the podium in third, 13.292 seconds off the leading pace. The narrow gap between the top contenders set the stage for another closely fought battle in the second round.
This weekend’s competition will feature 10 racing categories alongside the Ladies Cup, with drivers tackling the demanding 4.2-kilometre Aqabat Al-Muhammadiyah course. The mountain route includes 30 challenging corners and climbs from approximately 1,900 metres to 2,150 metres above sea level, testing competitors’ precision, consistency, and ability to balance speed with control through every section of the climb.
The event begins on Friday, July 17, with administrative checks, technical scrutineering, and the official drivers’ briefing involving race officials, organisers, and technical teams. Drivers will then take part in official practice before Heat 1 gets underway.
Action continues on Saturday, July 18, with Heats 2, 3, and 4, before the championship celebrates the weekend’s top performers during the prize-giving ceremony.
Safety and operational excellence remain a key focus of the championship. During the opening round, 38 marshals supported the event by managing vehicle movement, monitoring the competition area, and implementing safety procedures, ensuring a smooth and well-organised race weekend.
Following the second round, the 2026 Saudi Toyota Hill Climb Championship will conclude with its third and final round at the same Aqabat Al-Muhammadiyah course from July 31 to August 1, bringing another thrilling season of hill climb racing in Taif to an exciting close.
