Young explorers and creative minds in Jeddah are set to embark on a new imaginative journey as Hayy Explorers in September | As Told by the Land: Constructed Worlds begins on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Hayy Jameel.
Part of the wider As Told by the Land programme, the September edition will run until October 1, with activities taking place every Thursday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The programme is designed for children and young people, inviting them to explore storytelling, imagination and creative world-building through hands-on artistic experiences.
Titled Constructed Worlds, the programme encourages participants to think beyond the familiar and imagine worlds of their own creation. Through a combination of natural materials, mixed media and artistic experimentation, young participants will have the opportunity to transform ideas into physical and visual creations.
At the heart of the programme is the question: What does your world look like? Participants will be encouraged to explore this idea through hands-on building activities and creative exercises, including the creation of surrealist posters and imagined environments. The sessions aim to give young people the freedom to develop their own ideas while engaging with materials and artistic processes in an accessible and interactive setting.
The opening session on September 10 will feature The Explorers Book Club, presented in collaboration with The Rabyah Reading Project. Taking place from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the session combines engaging book readings with a hands-on art activity inspired by the stories explored during the programme.
The collaboration is designed to encourage literacy among young readers while connecting reading with play, creativity and artistic expression. The Rabyah Reading Project is an Arabic-language-led initiative focused on supporting children’s emotional and cognitive development through reading and play-based activities.

The September programme forms part of the broader three-month As Told by the Land thematic initiative at Hayy Explorers. The wider programme is aimed at children aged 6 to 15 and explores themes including storytelling, movement and changing worlds through educational programmes and artist interventions connected to exhibitions taking place at Hayy Arts.
Across the programme, participants are encouraged to observe their surroundings, follow different paths, collect traces and use elements of everyday life as inspiration for creative exploration.
With its focus on imagination, making and storytelling, Constructed Worlds offers a family-friendly cultural experience that moves beyond traditional exhibition viewing. Instead, it places young visitors at the centre of the creative process, giving them the opportunity to read, build, experiment and imagine.
As Hayy Explorers launches its September programme this Thursday, families in Jeddah can look forward to an engaging afternoon where stories become inspiration and imagination becomes a world waiting to be built.
