Sony showcases its latest portfolio of broadcast, live production, cinema and immersive solutions to support a new era of authentic and creative storytelling.

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – September 10, 2026: Sony is set to return to IBC 2026 with a broad portfolio of technology and solutions designed to support the changing needs of broadcasters, filmmakers, content creators and media organisations.
Under the theme “Creativity Connected,” Sony will showcase how its latest innovations across live production, news, cinema, immersive content and software can help customers create more engaging and authentic forms of storytelling.
From September 11 to 14, visitors to Sony’s stand in Hall 13 will be able to explore new products and workflows spanning professional audio, broadcast cameras, PTZ systems, Cinema Line, virtual production, spatial content and networked production.
Among the key highlights will be the fourth-generation DWX series digital wireless microphone system, featuring the DWT-B40 and DWR-R40Q. The system combines professional-grade transmission and simplified setup with 32-bit float internal recording designed to provide an additional layer of reliability during production.
Sony will also present its R-Series broadcast system cameras, the SRG-AS10 and SRG-XS10 PTZ Auto-Framing cameras, and its latest developments in Networked Live and Software Defined Broadcast.
The company will showcase its newly introduced DP7 and DP5 controllers, alongside the FX5 Cinema Line camera and the RIALTO 65 image sensor block, which is currently under development to expand the VENICE 2 system to a 65mm format.
The exhibition will also demonstrate Sony’s Cinematic Live approach, combining colour-matched Cinema Line and HDC cameras to support cinematic-quality live productions.
“At this year’s IBC show, Sony’s theme of ‘Creativity Connected’ will demonstrate how our technologies are the driving force behind the authentic and creative storytelling delivered by our customers,” said Olivier Bovis, Head of Media Solutions Business, Sony Europe. “As the demand for innovations to cope with the ever-transforming sector continues to grow Sony will present real-world examples for co-creating the future of entertainment with an ever-broader community of partners and creators.”
Faster and More Reliable News Production
Sony will highlight solutions aimed at helping news organisations improve speed, flexibility and reliability in field production.
The company will demonstrate an expanded range of data transmitters, including its previously announced collaboration with LiveU, alongside additional demonstrations with Dejero and TVU. These solutions are designed to support more efficient transmission from the field.
Sony will also showcase the latest software version for its camcorder with remote-control capabilities, expanding its potential applications beyond traditional news gathering.
As part of its focus on content authenticity, Sony will conduct a workflow demonstration with Reuters using authenticity information, following the collaboration announced earlier this week.
The PXW-Z300, launched in 2025, and the PXW-Z200 will also be displayed with their latest software versions. Both cameras support a variety of production scenarios, including live streaming and applications beyond conventional on-location news gathering.
Flexible Live Production for More Valuable Content
Sony’s live production ecosystem will demonstrate how broadcasters, production teams and content creators can produce higher-value content while improving operational flexibility.
The showcase will include Sony’s new R-Series system cameras, the SRG-AS10 AI-powered PTZ Auto-Framing camera, and media processing software from Nevion, including MOXELA and VideoIPath.
The solutions are designed to support productions of different scales, ranging from major broadcast events to smaller live-streaming operations.
Sony will also present version 3.1 of the BRC-AM7 PTZ Auto-Framing camera, featuring improved tracking performance in its Ball Sports, including Basketball, mode to support smoother camera operation during fast-moving sporting events.
The fourth-generation DWX digital wireless audio system will make its debut at IBC, combining 32-bit float internal recording, professional-grade transmission and simplified setup for a range of production environments.
Another highlight will be an all-in-one podcast and video production studio, designed to give creators, corporate communications teams and news organisations an accessible way to produce broadcast-quality video and audio.
A custom SDK-powered application enables remote participation through plug-and-play Sony cameras, while operators can remotely manage lighting, cameras and audio through a compact production setup with live HD streaming.
Immersive Production and New Forms of Visual Storytelling
Sony will also demonstrate its latest developments in virtual and spatial content production.
The company will showcase the evolution of its OCELLUS camera-tracking system, including the upcoming V2.0 update, alongside Crystal LED VERONA. Based on customer feedback, OCELLUS V2.0 introduces lens calibration and automatic offset measurement functions designed to determine the positional relationship between the camera and tracking sensor.
Sony will also highlight XYN Spatial Capture, which enables real-world environments to be captured and transformed into high-quality 3DCG assets.
Visitors will be able to see how captured 3D environments can be efficiently transformed into photorealistic backgrounds for virtual production, demonstrating new possibilities for filmmakers and content creators.
Expanding the Cinema Line and Imaging Portfolio
Sony will use IBC 2026 to highlight the continued expansion of its Digital Imaging and Cinema Line portfolio.
The FX5 Cinema Line camera and the RIALTO 65 image sensor block will make their show debuts. The FX5 features a newly developed fully stacked CMOS image sensor, while the DP7 and DP5 monitors provide accurate colour reproduction alongside remote camera-control capabilities.
Sony will also demonstrate updates to its Monitor & Control application, including EL Zone exposure monitoring and multi-camera control for vertical video.
Meanwhile, Catalyst Prepare 3.0 introduces support for X-OCN C1/C2 footage, metadata-based clip selection and image stabilisation, further supporting efficient workflows from production through post-production.
The exhibition will also feature Sony’s first fisheye zoom lens, the FE 8-14mm F3.5 Fisheye G. When paired with the VENICE Extension System Mini, the lens enables a 64mm optical-axis distance designed to support natural stereoscopic imaging.
Sustainability at the Sony Stand
Sustainability will also be reflected in Sony’s IBC exhibition design.
As part of Sony’s “Road to Zero” global environmental plan, which targets a zero environmental footprint by 2050 and net-zero impact by 2040, the company’s IBC stand incorporates Polygood panels made from recycled plastics, including materials recovered from medical devices and food packaging waste.
The exhibition fixtures are designed for more than three years of reuse, with 2026 marking the second year of deployment. By focusing on reusable stand structures and recyclable materials, Sony aims to reduce the need for new raw materials while continuing to improve the environmental performance of its exhibitions.
Sony will showcase its latest solutions at IBC 2026 in Hall 13 from September 11 to 14, 2026, offering visitors an opportunity to explore how connected technologies can support the next generation of live, broadcast, cinema and immersive production.
