Saudi Arabia is set to host its first-ever SoapBox race weekend, bringing a fun and creative motorsport experience to Jeddah from May 14 to 16, 2026.
The event, known as SoapBox Saudi 26 – Edition 1, will take place at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, the same venue that hosts major international racing events.
Unlike traditional motorsports, SoapBox racing is all about creativity and teamwork. Participants design and build their own gravity-powered cars, meaning there are no engines or motors involved. Teams then race these handmade vehicles downhill, combining speed with design and originality.
The event is not just about winning the race. Teams will also be judged on creativity, engineering, and safety, which means spectators can expect everything from innovative builds to fun and unusual designs.
The three-day weekend will include registration and vehicle checks on the first day, followed by race rounds, timed runs, and final competitions leading up to the award ceremony. Around 40 to 60 teams are expected to take part, making it a lively and competitive event.

Open to participants aged 18 and above, each team will consist of four to five members working together to design and build their car. The event is also designed to be family-friendly, with spectators able to enjoy the races, creative displays, and entertainment throughout the weekend.
SoapBox Saudi marks a new addition to the Kingdom’s growing lineup of sports and lifestyle events. By combining engineering, creativity, and fun competition, it offers a fresh experience that appeals to both participants and audiences.
As Saudi Arabia continues to expand its entertainment and events scene, this debut race weekend is expected to attract strong interest and set the stage for future editions.
