Jeddah has introduced a new public recreational space with the opening of Al Ajwad Park, a project aimed at enhancing green areas and improving quality of life for residents. The park spans approximately 70,000 square meters and was officially inaugurated by local authorities as part of ongoing urban development efforts.
The project, developed at a cost of around SAR 31 million, reflects Saudi Arabia’s broader focus on creating more accessible outdoor spaces for communities. The park has been designed to cater to visitors of all age groups, combining leisure, fitness, and family-friendly facilities in one location.
One of the main highlights of Al Ajwad Park is its expansive landscaped garden, which covers about 26,000 square meters. The green spaces provide a relaxing environment for visitors, offering shaded areas and walking paths that encourage outdoor activity.

The park also includes dedicated fitness and recreational zones. A 1,210-meter walking and jogging track has been developed for exercise enthusiasts, while children can enjoy a 1,080-square-meter play area equipped with modern facilities.
Designed with inclusivity in mind, the park offers amenities that make it accessible and enjoyable for families, individuals, and visitors of all ages. Seating areas, open spaces, and pathways have been integrated to create a comfortable and welcoming environment.
The opening of Al Ajwad Park is part of a wider effort by Saudi authorities to increase green coverage in urban areas, support healthier lifestyles, and provide more public spaces for recreation. Projects like this align with the Kingdom’s long-term goals of improving livability and enhancing urban environments.
As cities like Jeddah continue to grow, developments such as Al Ajwad Park play an important role in shaping more sustainable and community-focused urban spaces.
