The Saudi Film Festival 2026 is set to return from April 23 to April 29 at the King Abdulaziz Centre for World Culture (Ithra) in Dhahran, bringing together filmmakers, creatives, and cinema lovers from across the region.
Now in its 12th edition, the festival has grown into one of the Kingdom’s leading platforms for local and regional cinema. Organised by the Cinema Association and supported by the Saudi Film Commission, the event continues to play a key role in developing the country’s film industry.
This year’s theme, “Cinema of the Journey,” focuses on stories shaped by movement, travel, and personal transformation. The program will feature a mix of Saudi, Gulf, and international films, including both short and feature-length productions that explore different forms of storytelling.

In addition to film screenings, the festival will host workshops, panel discussions, and networking sessions for filmmakers and industry professionals. These activities aim to support emerging talent and create opportunities for collaboration within the growing Saudi film scene.
A special spotlight on Korean cinema is also part of this year’s lineup, offering audiences a chance to experience global storytelling alongside regional productions.
Held annually at Ithra, the festival has become a key cultural event in Saudi Arabia, reflecting the country’s increasing investment in arts, media, and creative industries. Over the years, it has helped launch new voices in filmmaking while building a stronger connection between local creators and global audiences.
As Saudi Arabia continues to expand its entertainment sector, the Saudi Film Festival remains an important space for storytelling, creativity, and cultural exchange.
