Riyadh to Host the Middle East’s First Humanoid Robot Kickboxing Event

Riyadh is set to welcome a futuristic new form of live entertainment as the Middle East’s first humanoid robot kickboxing event takes place on September 9, 2026.

Organised by Hero Esports, the event will mark the global debut of CyberHero, a new robotic sports initiative that brings together humanoid robotics, competitive gaming, music and live entertainment. The showcase is scheduled to begin at 9 PM in Riyadh, with the venue expected to be announced separately.

The event, titled CyberHero x Riyadh, will feature ten EngineAI T800 humanoid robots entering a purpose-built combat arena for live kickboxing bouts. Standing approximately 1.73 metres tall and weighing between 75 and 85 kilograms, the robots are designed with advanced movement capabilities, allowing them to walk, run, punch, kick, turn and recover after falls.

What makes the competition even more intriguing is the connection between robotics and esports. According to reports, professional esports athletes will pilot the humanoid robots using advanced control systems, creating a new competitive format that blends human skill with robotic performance.

The Riyadh showcase was announced during LEAP 2026 by Danny Tang, Co-founder and CEO of Hero Esports. The company sees CyberHero as the beginning of a new category of live entertainment, where technology, sport and gaming culture come together in front of a live audience.

Beyond the action inside the arena, CyberHero x Riyadh is set to offer a full entertainment experience. The approximately two-hour event will combine robot combat with immersive lighting, music and live performances. Electronic music producer and DJ Tokyo Machine has also been confirmed as part of the entertainment lineup, bringing his gaming-inspired electronic sound to the event.

The Riyadh event will be the first in a planned series of CyberHero experiences in major cities around the world. For Saudi Arabia, it adds another technology-driven entertainment experience to a rapidly evolving calendar of global events and showcases.

On September 9, Riyadh will become the stage for a spectacle that once belonged to science fiction, as humanoid robots step into the ring for a night where kickboxing meets robotics, esports and entertainment.
