Riyadh is set to welcome the return of the Summer Splash Run this month, bringing one of Saudi Arabia’s most popular community fitness events back to the capital on Saturday, 25 July 2026. Organized by Race Arabia, the event combines recreational running with water-themed activities, offering participants of all ages an opportunity to stay active while enjoying a lively summer atmosphere.
The Riyadh edition forms part of the Summer Splash tour, which travels across three Saudi cities during July. Following its opening stop in Jeddah, the event arrives in Riyadh before concluding in Al Khobar later in the month. The series has become a regular feature of the Kingdom’s growing calendar of recreational sporting events, encouraging people of different ages and fitness levels to participate in fun outdoor activities despite the summer season.
This year’s Riyadh event will feature two race categories. A 5-kilometre fun run will be held for 12 years and older , while a 2-kilometre race will welcome participants of all ages. Both races are designed to emphasize participation and enjoyment rather than competition, creating an inclusive environment for families, friends, and casual runners alongside experienced participants.

True to its name, Summer Splash incorporates water stations, splash zones, and interactive activities along the route to help participants cool down during the run. Organizers have also planned entertainment areas, family attractions, and interactive booths to create a festival-like atmosphere beyond the race itself. Every finisher will receive a commemorative medal, while participants can also expect race kits that include an event T-shirt, bib, drawstring bag, and other themed accessories.
The event reflects Saudi Arabia’s continued efforts to promote healthier lifestyles through accessible community sports initiatives. Recreational running has gained significant momentum across the Kingdom in recent years, supported by a growing number of organized races and fitness events that encourage physical activity among residents of all ages. Summer Splash has emerged as one of the more distinctive additions to this calendar by combining exercise with entertainment in a relaxed and family-oriented setting.
With schools on summer break and temperatures remaining high across the Kingdom, the return of Summer Splash offers residents another opportunity to enjoy an early morning outdoor event that blends fitness, recreation, and community engagement. As Riyadh prepares to host the second stop of the nationwide tour on 25 July, participants can look forward to a morning of running, water-filled fun, and activities designed to make staying active enjoyable for the whole family.
