Saudi Arabia has announced a temporary extension for visit visa holders who were unable to leave the country due to ongoing regional travel disruptions. The new deadline allows affected visitors to stay or exit the Kingdom until April 18, 2026.
The decision was issued by the Ministry of Interior as part of efforts to support individuals impacted by flight cancellations and airspace issues across the region. The extension applies to various types of visas, including visit visas, Umrah visas, transit visas, and final exit permits that expired around late February 2026.
Authorities have provided two options for those affected. Visitors can apply to extend their visas through the Absher platform by paying the required fees. This allows them to remain in the country legally for a limited period until the April deadline.

Alternatively, those who wish to leave can exit Saudi Arabia directly through international departure points without renewing their visas or paying overstay fines. This measure is designed to make the departure process easier for travelers who were unable to leave on time due to circumstances beyond their control.
Officials have advised all eligible visitors to take advantage of this grace period and complete their travel or visa procedures before April 18. After this date, regular penalties and regulations may apply.
The move highlights Saudi Arabia’s flexible approach in managing travel challenges while maintaining smooth border operations. It also comes at a time when the Kingdom is handling a high volume of visitors for religious and tourism purposes, making efficient visa management more important than ever.
